Skin came in existence in late 2000, when founding members Victor and Patrick got together after meeting in the Washburn University Marching Band Percussion Line (Patrick also being a talented percussionist).

Lack of serious rock musicians in the Topeka area was to be a major setback in completing the band and the catalyst to start the Irish music side project The Finn McHooligans in 2004. Finally in late 2005 they were joined by guitarist/vocalist Chris Dolezilek and finished working on their first release in early 2006.
